Kevin O'Leary Offers $20 Billion for TikTok Amidst US Ban

Canadian businessman Kevin O'Leary has made a staggering $20 billion cash offer to buy TikTok. This comes after a bipartisan bill, signed into law by President Biden, deemed TikTok a threat to national security due to its Chinese parent company, ByteDance.

As a result, ByteDance must either sell or divest from TikTok by Sunday to avoid a ban from American app stores. The Supreme Court has upheld this ban, and O'Leary warns that any service provider continuing to support TikTok after the deadline will face hefty fines of $5,000 per day, multiplied by 170 million users - that's over a billion dollars daily.

O'Leary, known for his role on "Shark Tank," announced his $20 billion offer on Fox News's "America's Newsroom," stating, "Right now, $20 billion is on the table, cash." He's now waiting to see if his offer will be accepted .

It's worth noting that O'Leary might not be the only one interested in buying TikTok. He's reportedly joining forces with billionaire Frank McCourt to acquire the platform .
