Mayo-Kani, Cameroon: Young people invited to rethink their political commitments.

Less than three months away from the Cameroonian presidential election scheduled for October 12, 2025, the youth of Mayo-Kani are called on to play a decisive role.

It is in this dynamic that a conference debate was organized on July 31st in Kaélé, on the theme: "Youth and politics in the Mayo-Kani: between conviction, follow-upism and political opportunism."

This meeting was initiated by the National Youth Council of Cameroon (CNJC) for the Mayo-Kani, in partnership with the Action for Governance and Socio-economic Development (AGDES).

Through this initiative, the organizers sought to generate a collective awareness of the real motivation of young people in the political sphere, at a time when the democratic stakes are particularly high.

The objective of this conference was to motivate the youth of Mayo-Kani to participate in political life in a responsible, conscious and constructive manner.

It was more precisely about identifying the root causes of their commitment to distinguish sincere motives from opportunistic behaviors and proposing ways to build active citizenship.
