FAMA Responds to Mali's Terrorist Attacks Fiercely

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) announced this morning that they had responded forcefully to a terrorist attack targeting their base in Boulkessi, in the Douentza region. 

An official statement from the Army General Staff was issued, emphasizing the ferocity of the fighting and the substantial losses incurred, and according to the statements, the assailants launched a coordinated attack on Sunday, June 1, 2025. 

The troops present in Boulkessi reacted rapidly and vigorously, before executing a strategic withdrawal. The document pays tribute to the Malian soldiers: "Many of them fought heroically, some until their last breath, to protect the Malian nation against obscurantism and barbarism." 

The initial counter-attack operations inflicted considerable losses on the terrorist groups. "The operations resulted in the elimination of several terrorists gathered in their safe havens," the statement said, adding that search operations were still actively underway at the time of this publication.
